Eight Weeks · Small Group · Dr. Cody Rall, MD

Eight weeks of testing on one brain. Yours.

We scan your brain before and after every photobiomodulation session, two times a week, and change exactly one thing at a time — until we find the setting that works on you. You finish with that setting written down.

What others are saying

How it works

One variable a week. Measured every single time.

Almost nobody does this. Most programs hand you a preset and hope. Here, every session is a small experiment with a before and an after — so by the end we’re not guessing what works for you, we’ve watched it.

We change one thing

Each week we adjust exactly one setting — the frequency, the power, the timing, or the order. Never two at once, because then you learn nothing.

We measure before and after

You scan your brain immediately before your session and immediately after. Same time of day, same conditions. The scan is the scoreboard — not my opinion, and not your mood that morning.

You keep the answer

Week eight you get your setting, written down, built from your own readings. It’s yours. It works whether or not you ever speak to me again.

Your session, start to finish

About 25 minutes, three times a week, at home.

Step 1
Scan

Where your brain is right now, today.

Step 2
60-second settle

So we’re reading a steady brain, not a rushed one.

Step 3
20 min of light

This week’s assigned setting on your NeuroPro 2.

Step 4
Scan again

Immediately after. Same setup, so it’s a fair comparison.

Step 5
Log it

Ninety seconds in your tracker. That’s the whole job.

Light six mornings a week, in the first few hours after you wake up, so we’re working with your own rhythm rather than against it. Scans two or three times a week at roughly the same hour — drift in the timing will fake a result and send us chasing something that isn’t there.

If you’re someone whose system runs sensitive, we back the dose down to three days on, one off. A headache means back off, not push through. That’s a rule, not a suggestion.

The eight weeks

Every week answers one question.

WeekWhat we testThe question it answers
1 Your starting map, plus the gentlest setting What does your brain look like at rest — and does it tolerate this at all?
2 The most-studied setting Does the classic protocol recommended by studies actually do anything on your brain?
3 Two settings running together Does this synchronize your brain hemispheres better than single settings?
4 A slow ramp instead of a fixed setting Does gradually climbing beat holding one frequency? For most people who respond, yes.
5 Adding brain training on top Does neurofeedback training stack better on a brain that’s already primed by the light?
6–7 Your open weeks By now we’ve tested several different settings on you. These two weeks are for fine-tuning before the program ends — power, timing, spacing, ceiling — adjusted around how you actually responded. They’re deliberately unscripted, and they’re where most of what I’ve learned actually came from.
8 Your protocol, written down, plus your closing map What is your setting — and what changed since week one?

Weeks 1 through 5 are fixed for everyone. Weeks 6 and 7 belong to you.

Included

What comes with the program.

Everything in the 8-week program

Your opening and closing brain maps — the same measurement, eight weeks apart, so you can see the difference yourself.

Three guided sessions a week, at home — with a written protocol card each week telling you exactly what to run.

A live weekly group call with me — we go through what the group’s data did that week, and I answer whatever came up. Small groups only.

Your own tracking file — every session, every reading, in one place, so week six is built on real numbers instead of memory.

The Myndlift electrode and eight weeks of training access — shipped to you, set up for you.

Your written custom protocol — the deliverable. Your setting, your dose, your timing, derived from your own readings.

The Sharper Every Day Course and Red Light Essentials — both included, so you understand what you’re doing rather than just following instructions.

The alumni group — the people who finished, still testing, still comparing notes.

What you bring

Be straight with yourself about this part.

  • A Vielight NeuroPro 2. You’ll need to own one — I don’t offer rentals. This is the real cost of entry and I’m not going to bury it: it’s a significant purchase on top of the program fee. If you already own one, you’re set.
  • A Muse headband. Muse 2, S, or Athena. Roughly $250–$400 if you don’t have one. We supply the Myndlift electrode that goes with it.
  • About two hours a week. Three 25-minute sessions plus the group call. Mornings, mostly.
  • Willingness to log it. The whole method falls apart without the tracker. Ninety seconds a session.

If any of that sounds like too much, this isn’t the right program and I’d rather you knew now. The Brain Map session on its own is a better fit.

Why this program exists

I shut my first program down. This is what I built instead.

In 2022 I ran a brain training program built on neurofeedback alone. Clients signed up excited. By week three they were gone.

One of them said it out loud on a group call, and it has stayed with me ever since:

“What the heck is this supposed to be doing?”

— a client, mid-call, 2022

He was right. The work was hard, slow, and completely invisible from the inside. Nobody could feel anything, nobody could see anything, so nobody had a reason to keep going. I closed the program and spent two years making YouTube videos instead.

Then two different people, months apart, said the same sentence to me: “Have you tried Vielight? It really makes you feel different.”

That word — feel — is why I paid attention. I bought the headset, put it on, and noticed a distinct shift during the session. That was the missing piece: something you can actually notice in week one, while the slower work compounds underneath it.

So I rebuilt the program around one decision. Stop promising outcomes. Start measuring inputs.

From 40+ people who ran this

Five things I could not have told you three years ago.

  • 1

The preset is a starting point, not an answer

A single held setting was rarely the best one for anyone. Ramps and sequences beat it for most people who responded. If you’re running one preset out of the box, you’re almost certainly leaving something on the table.

  • 2

When you run two speeds at once, the slower one wins

If the goal is to bring a brain up, running the settings one after another beats running them together. That surprised me, and it changed how I program everyone now.

  • 3

The order matters as much as the setting

Training before the light produced cleaner readings than training after it. Same components, different sequence, different result.

  • 4

Dose is a real variable, not a footnote

Power level and how many days on versus off moved results as much as the frequency choice did. This is why we test it rather than assume it.

  • 5

    Bad data will fool you

A wifi drop mid-scan, a loose contact, a session run three hours later than usual — each of those produced dramatic-looking results that turned out to be nothing. Standardizing the scan window is half of why this works.

The light is not passive. The people who got the most out of this used the session as a primer and then did something with the primed state — training, focused work, real thinking. The ones who treated it as something that happens to them got the least.

— the single biggest predictor of who did well

The deal, plainly

I won’t tell you how you’ll feel in eight weeks.

I don’t know, and anybody who says they do is selling you something.

Here’s what I will say. In eight weeks you will know more about your own brain than you do today, you’ll have watched it respond to a dozen different settings, and you’ll walk out with a protocol that came out of your own readings rather than a manufacturer’s manual.

That’s the promise. It’s one I can keep every single week.

From the group

Three people, eight weeks each.

“I feel calmer. I feel less reactive. It’s like I can handle stuff better — I don’t sweat the small stuff. It’s not like I’m a new person. The old me is still here.”

— P., full-time caregiver, week 7. Her final protocol ran the training before the light, not after — an ordering effect we found in her open weeks.

“I really wouldn’t have invested in the machine if I didn’t have someone guiding me through it who knew what they were doing. It would have been hopeless.”

— N., week 8. Sensitive to stimulation; we spent four weeks earning the dose and finished on a custom ramp nobody would have found from a preset list.

“People assume the red light is passive — you sit there and everything gets better by itself. It’s like steroids. You can take all the steroids you want, but unless you lift, you’re not getting jacked. The light primes your mind for the learning.”

— E., 43, attorney, week 8. 110 scans and 122 training sessions logged. Continued into the ongoing program.

These are individual client experiences in an educational coaching program, not typical results, not measured medical outcomes, and not a promise of what will happen for you. Not everyone in the program responded, and several people needed the dose reduced.

Questions

Before you apply.

Do I have to buy the Vielight?

Yes. You need your own NeuroPro 2 — I don’t have rental options. It is the intervention we’re testing, so there’s no version of this without it. I don’t sell them and I don’t take a commission on your purchase inside this program. I’ll tell you honestly whether it’s worth it for you before you spend the money.

I already did a Brain Map session. What’s different here?

The Brain Map is one reading and one plan. This is thirty-odd readings across eight weeks, testing a different variable every week, with a group call and a written protocol at the end. The map tells you where you’re starting. The program tells you what actually moves you.

Is it one-on-one or a group?

Both, in that order. Your first consult is one-on-one — a QEEG brain scan and a private session with me to read it. After that you join the group for your NeuroPro 2 programming, with a live weekly call. Testing this deeply is only affordable to deliver that way, and frankly the group is half the value, because you see eleven other brains respond differently to the same setting. Your protocol and your data are entirely yours.

What’s the real time commitment?

About two hours a week. Three sessions of roughly 25 minutes, plus the group call. The sessions are at home, in the morning, before your day starts.

I’m older. Is this designed for me?

A good portion of the group is over sixty, and my oldest client so far was 91. The technology is simpler than a smartphone once it’s set up, and we set it up for you. What matters more than age is whether you’ll do the sessions and log them.

What if it doesn’t work for me?

Some people respond dramatically, some modestly, and a few not much at all. That’s the honest picture. What everyone leaves with is data on their own brain and a protocol chosen from it — which is worth having even when the response is small. If you want a promise about how you’ll feel, I’m not your guy.

Is this covered by insurance?

No. This is a private educational coaching program, not a medical service.

What happens after week eight?

Most people just run their protocol. A number join the ongoing program — a smaller monthly cadence with continued scanning and protocol adjustments, plus the alumni group. That’s optional and we talk about it in week eight, not before.

Refunds?

Full refund up to 48 hours before the group starts. Once the group begins and your equipment and opening map are prepared, we’re past that window. The program is built around a cohort, so a seat held is a seat someone else couldn’t take.

Next group forming

Eight weeks from now you’ll have your answer.

Or you can run the same preset you’ve been running and wonder about it for another year.
